A year has passed since Tess (Teresa), former CEO of the PKD Charity, sadly left us on March 1, 2024. With a mixture of sadness and happy memories, we honour her incredible legacy.

Tess's dedication to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) community was unwavering, and her impact remains deeply felt—not only by those she supported through her work but also by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Tess embarked on her journey as a fervent advocate for PKD in 2004 when she joined the PKD Charity as a trustee. From humble beginnings of stuffing envelopes to pioneering groundbreaking initiatives, Tess's dedication to enhancing the lives of those affected by PKD knew no bounds.

Her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing PKD research left an indelible mark on the global community. She tirelessly fostered collaborations, drove innovation, and championed international partnerships in pursuit of effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for PKD.

Despite her personal battle with PKD, Tess remained resolute, undergoing a kidney transplant in 2020, a testament to her steadfast commitment to the cause.

Beyond her professional achievements, Tess's warmth, empathy, and boundless optimism touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a remarkable individual who will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts. 

We miss you, Tess, but your light continues to shine!
